Presidents Report - August 2010

As I have eluded to in my last couple of ramblings we're in the process of tidying up & rewriting our constitution & by-laws, this is near completion & will be sent out to all the clubs for perusal & your comments, once these have been sent out we're planning on doing a road show to answer any questions & queries, as this effects all our members & the future of NZHRA.

We have been approached by the owners of Hampton Downs raceway, who are planning a motorsport weekend at their track, a "motoring festival to celebrate the V8", this will be open to all car clubs and V8 vehicles, this will include a car display, a chance to run you cars on the track, markets for the ladies, bands & trade displays, tentative date is February 12-13 th 2011.

Regretfully we're losing another of our Executives, as mentioned last month Richard Adlington is stepping down form Zone 2, Reon McPherson from Zone 10 has announced his intention to stand down due to business commitments. I wish to take this opportunity to thank Reon for his support & commitment to the NZHRA and wish him well for the future.

Just a reminder if you're planning a trip to the deep South next year to attend both the Century Yuasa NZHRA Street Rod Nationals & the Pre 49s, that entries close for both events on January 31 st , Entry forms for the Street Rod Nats will be available from Labour Weekend, limited to 500 people, Pre 49s are open now and available from either pre49ers@gmail.com or our web site www.hotrod.org.nz .

We're also in the planning stages to run another lottery to coincide with our 50 th anniversary, with the drawing of the lottery in November 2011, the plan is to start the lottery in the South Island this time around, at this stage pricing of tickets will remain the same and maybe with another surprise incentive for our members..

Keep those wheels turning.
