NZ Hot Rod Magazine Club Champs - April 2009

Saturday 4th April provided a great day for racing.. clear blue skys and close to 40 teams entered into the event providing the biggest field of teams seen at the Club Champs.. and the race was on to see which team would become the NZHRM Club Champs of 2009.

A couple of oil spills halted racing for a bit.. but allowed spectators and drivers some time for lunch and some cool breeze before returning to racing.

One incident to report when a car crossed lanes and clipped the rear of Tony Vinsen's vehicle which unfortunately had only been put on the road the day before! Hard luck Tony we hope you had a great day at Fram Autolite Dragway anyway!

And who were the winners??... Well with one race in it..and coming down to a final Shoot Out.. Sulphur City R&CC took the win from Scenic City R&CC.. see more below..

Wayne Mackie taking the win on this race to take the title of NZHRM Club Champs of 2009 for Sulphur City R&CC Inc.

Winners: Sulphur City R&CC Brian Atkinson Bruce Erickson Wayne Mackie Paul Yerex The winners received the annual Club Champs plate, NZHRM Merchandise Pack, Swann Insurance Trophy and each recieved a NZHRA Black Shirt with the support of Swann Insurance.
Runner Up: Scenic City R&CC
Third Place: Te Awamutu R&CC
Forth Place: Bay Rodders
